Scientific Advisory Board
VIMTA in pursuing its goal to continuously invent and innovate its services has constituted a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) in year 2014. The purpose of SAB is to assist the Company with scientific strategy and direction to realize its vision. SAB will advise on new services and research programs for expansion and diversification by providing expert opinion on changing global industry requirements, and new scientific and technological advancements.
SAB is comprised of independent, non-employee members, with scientific expertise, including SAB Chairperson who is appointed by SAB upon recommendation from VIMTA’s Chairman of Board of Directors.
Brief profiles of the SAB’s independent, non-employee members are as below.
Prof D BALASUBRAMANIAN (SAB Chairperson)
Balasubramanian trained first as a chemist and turned biologist, has been a professor at IIT Kanpur, Professor and Dean at the Univeristy of Hyderabad, Director Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology and currently the Director of Research at the L V Prasad Eye Institute
In addition he has also been the President of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Secretary General of the World Academy of Sciences, Advisor to the State of Andhra Pradesh for the development of Biotechnology and a consultant to UNESCO.
He has received all major awards in Indian Science and Technology and also to the world academy of Sciences prize for Basic Medical Sciences.He has received all major awards in Indian Science and Technology and also to the world academy of Sciences prize for Basic Medical Sciences.
Dr. KANURY V.S .RAO
Kanury V.S. Rao has 32 years of experience in various fields of Immunology, Virology and Drug Discovery. Kanury heads Immunology group in International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) and is founder of Drug Discovery Research Center (DDRC).
Kanury is a PhD. in Chemistry from M.S.University of Baroda (India).
Dr. PANKAJ SHAH
Pankaj has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with major pharmaceutical companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb. As a global leader Pankaj is responsible for support of the drug development of several early and late phase NCEs; QbD and PAT based drug product manufacturing process control; biologic formulation development; and product life cycle management. Pankaj has extensive experience in CRO activities in India, China, EU and US.
Pankaj has served on the USP Advisory Panel, and is an active member of ISPE, PQRL, AAPS and ACS organizations.
Pankaj is a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA.
SAB members also include the Company’s Chairman, Managing Director and Executive Director Operations.
