PhD Programme

Vimta is offering a research based PhD program in Biotechnology through Deakin University, Australia. The duration of this program will be 3.5 years, full time, based at Life Sciences Campus of Vimta Labs Ltd, in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

The programme includes a 3-6 month stay at Deakin University for further research and training with a Deakin university based co-advisor. The PhD programme is fully paid, covering tuition fees, airfare and stay in Australia. A stipend will be paid according to JRF norms for the duration of the programme.

World Class Facilities

Vimta has available a world class facility with state-of-the-art instrumentation in all areas of biotechnology from GC-MS and MALDI TOF/TOF to high throughput DNA sequencing and microarray technologies and fully equipped pre-clinical research facilities. The R&D lab at Vimta is recognised by DSIR as a Research facility.

Research Areas

The research area focus will include Metabolic disorders, Cancer, Infectious diseases, Bioanalytical and Molecular diagnostics.

Eligibility

Minimum eligibility criteria is First Class or 60% marks in MSc/MPharm in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or other relevant areas. Previous research experience is preferable. Selection will be based on experience, an aptitude test and personal interview.
